Current Scenario:
Biotechnology is a hotcake among various global companies. Main areas of application include research in the field of genetics. Biotechnology is being looked upon as an answer to many genetic ailments in the human body that are otherwise uncurable.


Future Prospects:
A biotechnologist will be involved in the research, development and formulation of newer methods for curing genetic diseases that are otherwise uncurable. The future of this field is bright as more and more global business giants go in to genetic research that may benefit millions of people world over.


Who should go for it:
This field requires the candidate to be well aware of the consequences of his/her efforts to provide cure for genetic disorders that might affect millions of people world over. Work is rather challenging with numerous amount of people involved in making the breakthrough before any one else does.


Duration: 4+ 2 years


Eligibility Conditions: Pass in 12th class of 10+2 pattern or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics (including practical) provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core or elective) in the qualifying examination.
