A Software Development Center has been setup at FORE School
of Management with separate infrastructure. The basic objective
is to provide IT students an exposure to development of software's,
which in the long run can be converted to products/integrated
into various software products and make the students entrepreneur
i.e. employers rather than employees. The center has five
full time employees who have passed MCA from FSM and about
15 MCA students working in the development center. The center
has developed business intelligent product to derive knowledge
from large databases. These data can be from ERP system, Operational
CRM systems and any other databases. The product is first
one to be developed in the country in the area of business
intelligence. It can be used in standalone mode or can be
integrated with a front-end CRM tool that provides analytical
capabilities. The product has been tested with well known
products like SAS, COGNOS and the results are almost identical.
On a trial bases the software has been installed at OGILVY
& MATHER, DIREM, NATIONAL I NSURANCE ACADEMY PUNE and
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BANK MANAGEMENT for evaluation. The
feedback received is quite good. We are working out plans
to make strategic allies so that the product can be marketed.
