Institute
of Vocational Studies under Awadh Public Charitable Trust
(a philanthropic organization) established in 2001 draws the
attention of all prospective students for admission and is
committed to sustaining high quality education supported by
professional development. The institute welcomes its responsibilities
to contribute to the cultural and economic life of the country
and is unequivocally opposed to discrimination in all its
forms.
The institute is affliated to GGSIP University and is functioning
under the aegis of NCTE offers one year full time English
medium B.Ed Programme with an intake of 100 students.
The
institute is strongly committed to the principle of life long
learning and has accordingly designed the instructional strategies
with the need of the new millennium. This is possible through
dynamic transaction of meticulously designed curriculum through
lectures, discussions, practicals, tutorials, and the job
training course assignments and projects. To inculcate in
the students a sense of social responsibility towards society,
Community Service Programme is organized within the campus
and outside in co-ordination with different NGO's. Work experience
and CCA are organized with equal zeal and unending enthusiasm
which in turn is important for digging out the hidden talent
of the students.
CAMPUS
AND INFRASTRUCTURE
IVS
is situated in the heart of institutional area of Sheikh Sarai,
Phase-II with lush green, serene and eco friendly environment
which is conducive for ideal teaching and learning activities.
It is well connected by different major bus points and easily
accessible by road leading to every corner of the city.
It
has beautiful building, which includes spacious classrooms,
Labs, Library, Staff Rooms, Common Rooms (Boys & Girls
Separate) & Seminar Rooms. It also has PCO's, Canteen
and Xerox facility. The facilities of indoor games and yoga
are also available.
LABS
The
insitute provides lab facilities for the transaction of B.Ed
Curriculum mentioned as under:
.Computer Lab fully equipped 30 PIII terminals of HP Brio
& Compaq alongwith software in the area of Teacher Education.
.Science Lab with necessary equipments, chemical and teaching
aids.
.Psychology Lab with essential tests and facilities to perform
practicals.
.Education Technology Lab with print and non-print media and
a Work Experience Lab.
FACULTY
The
institute is set to emerge as a high quality land mark in
the educational domain under the able guidance and supervision
of Dr.Nuzhat Fahim supported by seven qualified and competent
faculty members sincerely involved in the transaction of the
B.Ed Curriculum.
We
are fortunate to have a guidance of an array of reputed educationists
NIEPA, NCERT, SCERT, DIET, CIE, Jamia Millia Islamia as well
as Principals and teachers of Government and Public Schools
in bridging the gap between theory and practical part of the
B.Ed Curriculum.
LIBRARY
The
institute has built up a modern specialized and fully computerized
library consisting of Books, Encyclopedias, Journals, Periodicals
and Information Bulletins on Teacher Education. In addition
an increasing number of electronic information sources are
available including databases and CD ROM's.
