Lal Bahadhur Shashtri Institute of Management, Delhi is a premier and dynamic Institute in Management and Information Technology education. The institute aims at developing a center of excellence in management and IT education, training, research and consultancy. The values, ethics and principles of Shashriji have been the constant guiding light that has given direction to us. Thus developing professionals with a humane and pragmatic approach, the essence of which lies in teamwork, is the main aim of the Institute.

The Institute is recognized by AICTE and affiliated to GGS Indraprastha University, Delhi for the Three Year Full-Time Programme in Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

The Institute has emerged as one of the fastest growing B-Schools in the country and has been ranked No. 16 in the country and No. 5 amoung B-Schools established in the last decade (including IIMs) by COSMODE - Businessworld B-School Survey 2003, ranked overall No. 18 in the country and No. 11 based on Placement Performance (including IIMs) by OUTLOOK - C fore Survey 2003, No. 13 in the country based on Pay Packets (including IIMs) by OUTLOOK MONEY in 2003 and rated in the A+ Category, No. 1 based on Governance and No. 7 based on Interface with Industry (including IIMs) by AIMA B-School Survey 2003.

The Institute has a highly qualified faculty with diverse educational backgrounds form reputed institutes and with wide work experience. More than half of them have doctorates in management, IT and related areas. The Institute is fully air-conditioned and has state-of-art auditorium with sophisticated audio-visual aids, a Computer Center with two windows NT servers, one Unix Redhat 70 server and 120 nodes on LAN, latest software & DSL Internet facilities, Digital Systems Lab and a library with over 20,000 books and subscriptions to 200 national & international journals and magazines. The library is also member of British Council Library and American Center. Information on 9500 + companies is available through COMPANYLINE/CAPITA QUERRY databases. The LBS Journal of the Institute. Hostel is available for boys and girls. Lal Bahadhur Shastri Institute of management has instituted Lal Bahadhur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration and Management Sciences. The award honours each indivisual each year, residing in India or Abroad, who is an exceptionally outstanding public administrator, management practitioner, educator or institute builder for his/her sustained indivisual contributions and achievement of high professional order and excellence. The honour carries a cash award of Rs. One Lakh plus a citation and a plaque presented on the eve of the birth anniversary of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri each year. The awardee's name is inscribed on the Rolls of Honour of LBSIM and he/she is designated as Lal Bahadhur Business Fellow. The first award was presented to Prof. C.K. Prahalad, Professor, university of Michigan Business School, USA; the second award to Mr. Sam Sam Pitroda, Chairman, World-Tel, UK; the third award to Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, CEO and Chief Mentor, Infosys Technologies Ltd. And the fourth award to Dr. R.A Mashelkar, DG, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR, Govt. of India.
