ABOUT
THE INSTITUTE: Maharaja Surajmal Institute is a non-profit,
quality conscious and trend setting institute with focus on
providing equal opportunities for development of human potentials
of every segment of Society including the differentiated one.
The Institute has been established through the dedicated and
selfless endeavour of educationists and social workers who
are deeply concerned with the standards of education and are
determined to upgrade the quality, content and direction of
education. The Institute is a venture of its kind where educators
and professionals have joined hands to aid and direct the
agenda of education. The Institute is located in the institutional
srea of Janak Puri and has a magnificent building. The campus
is spread over 8 acres of land with lush greean lawns and
trees.
BUILDING: Besides the existing 4 storeyed building with built
up area of 6298 sq.m. and 80 rooms, another 7 storeyed building
with 9660 sq.m. and 77 rooms is under construction and is
likely to be ready within 3 months.

FACULTY
The
Institute has full time 25 teachers highly qualified as per
University/UGC norms comprising of two Professors, one Asstt.
Professor and 22 Lecturers out of which eight are Ph.D. holders
having long academic and Industrial experience. As many as
16 eminent scholors and persons from corporate world are invited
regularly as Guest Faculty for specific topics to ensure guidance
from experts from diverdent fields. The Institute is headed
by Dr. R.B. Solanki, M.Com., M.Phil., Ph.D. who has more than
25 years of experience with the University Of Delhi.
FACILITIES
COMPUTER
CENTRE: The Institute has five well equipped air conditioned
Computer Laboratories, having 140 Pentium III with multimedia,
Laser Printers, Desk Jet Printers and adequate licensed software.
All PCs are networked using a powerful IBM server. The facility
for Internet Access using ISDN is also offered to all students.
The Computer Centre imparts regular training to encourage
students in developing real life software projects.
LIBRARY:
The Institute has a Central Library covering an area of 234
sq. m. and having over 17000 volumes from different areas
of studies. It has a spacious Reading Room with all types
of leading Journals, Periodicals, Magazines and Newspapers.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY LAB: The lab is fully equipped with
various modern gadgets for Class Room instructions including
OHP, VCR, TV etc.
PSYCHOLOGY LAB: There is a well equipped lab with various
standardized tests for counseling of the students. The counseling
corner scientifically handles the problems of students.
TEACHING/LEARNING STRATEGIES: Various innovative and creative
techniques are employed during the teaching process to make
learning an interesting and permanent aspect. The teaching
consists of interactive methodology whereby students are given
an opportunity to widen their horizons through case studies,
role plays, seminars, group discussions, tutorials, training
workshops and intensive grounding in IT and communication
skills. Teaching aids are employed extensively for this purpose.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Wall Magazine, Debates, Annual Magazine,
Cultural & Literary Activities, Industrial Visits, Counselling,
Sports, Training & Research Facilities, Business Quiz,
IT Quiz, Arranging Exhibition, Seminar, Celebrating Special
Occasions- Children's Day, Literacy Day, etc.
ACHIEVEMENTS: Excellent results of BBA(H), BIS(H), BCA and
B.Ed. some of the top university positions were secured by
our students. All students of B.Ed. passed in first division.
PLACEMENT: The Institute has an active placement cell formed
with a combination of faculty and student members to help
fulfill students' aspirations. The cell maintains a computerized
Data Bank of Companies and ensures that the students get training
and placements commensurate with their abilities and aspirations.
HOSTEL
AND CANTEEN: The Hostel provides accommodation to 250 students
( both boys & girls) in a spacious and elegant four-stroyed
building with all connected facilities. Hygenic and nutritious
food is provided at the minimum possible cost. Canteen facilities
on the campus with a seating arrangement of 50-60 persons
at a time. The snacks and other eatables are of good quality
and the surrounding are neat and clean.
SPORTS COMPLEX: There is a well equipped sports complex within
the premises of the Institute having all the sports facilities
for both indoor and outdoor games.
