Delhi
Institute of Advanced Studies, Plot No. 6, Sector - 25,
Rohini has taken the lead in student convenience measures.
The institute launched IP University's first ever bus service.
Being remotely located in Rohini, the students faced problems
in commuting because of the very limited public transport
facilities.
The DIAS bus service picks up students at "various time
slots" in the morning from main points like Wazirpur Depot.
During the afternoon, the buses take off from DIAS at hourly
intervals and drop students at main points like Madhuban
Chownk. Prachi Bhatia, a first year student of BBA at DIAS
says "I myself am using this bus service, and it has definitly
provided a very convenient way of commuting. Earlier, reaching
collge was difficult due to the scarce public bus service,
and most of the time it resulted in spending money on autorickshaws".
The move by one of the top colleges affiliated to Guru Gobind
Singh Indraprastha University, should provide a lesson in
student satisfaction to other colleges. What is the bus
service like in your college? Let us know. Use the feedback
form on the bottom right hand corner of this page to share
