OUR
MISSION
In order to make a competent lawyer our effort
would be three fold:
1.
To change attitude
2. To develop legal skill
3. To provide substantive and procedural knowledge
The
life of law is the practice of the LAW. One gets a measure
of the extent of protection law affords to the rights, duties
and interests of the members of the society. The practitioners
of law exercise a profound and crucial influence in regulating
progress and maintaining order in the society. In a complex
society, no matter how much one may desire to avoid the disputative
aspect of life, occasions do arise where legal services become
indispensable for survival. Today we are fast moving towards
a situation in which in the interest of equality and justice,
legal services are being made available at state expense to
all those who are themselves unable to procure them. The legal
profession is playing an increasingly important role in a
democratic republic not only in the dispensation of social
justice but also in promotion of rule of law and in the formation
of just legal order envisaged by the Constitution of India.
The
SCHOOL of Law and legal studies has begun its session from

OUR
PLAN
To
establish the global law and policy initiative. To provide
forum for dialogue about critical issues of global policy
among academics, policy makers and business leaders. To organize
seminars, conferences, workshops, moot courts, mock trials
regularly to supplement the school's rich academic offerings
in law course. To apply computer technology to enhance the
study of law and in addressing the global implications of
new developments in science and technology. To offer flexibility
in the choice of law courses as well as the opportunity to
conduct independent research.
Why
five year law course?
The
present five year law course has been designed to promote
and develop interdisciplinary course i.e. to appreciate law
in social and developmental context. The aim is to attract
students at the threshold of their career options, who will
take to Law study not because they have nothing else to do
but because the legal education is their first choice. This
will help in producing lawyers with a sense of social responsibility
who can face new challenges posed to the legal profession
from time to time. To achieve this we promote and develop
clinical program i.e. Practical Training. The board objects
of the clinical programs are:
i.
To acquaint the students with the practice of law generally
and the skills of advocacy in particular;
ii. To expose students to the actual social milieu in which
disputes arise and to enable them to develop a sense of social
responsibility in professional work;
iii. To be able to seek and critically consume knowledge from
outside the traditional legal areas for better delivery of
legal services;
iv. To understand the limits and limitations of the formal
legal system and to appreciate the relevance and use of alternate
modes of practicing law;
v. To imbibe social and humanistic values in relation to law
and legal processes while following the norms of professional
ethics.
Objectives
of five year Integrated law course
The
goal of professional legal education is to equip student to
perform the variety of roles which lawyers are expected to
play in our society. The new curriculum of 5 years integrated
LL.B. course includes nearly 2 years of instruction in law
related social science subjects and humanities. It underlines
the modern emphasis on humanistic and policy oriented goals
in legal education. The demands of new curriculum therefore,
are varied and exacting both at the doctrinal (theoretical)
and empirical (practical) level of inquiry. To organize these
demands around a practical scheme of teaching / learning requires
a great deal of initiative, experimentation and adaptation.
